“You should come to this school because it is the best school ever!” Evie and Leah - Year 4

We take pride in our school's attendance.  Good attendance is now amongst one of the most important elements of a school and we have many ways in which we promote good attendance.  In recent years we have also been highlighted by the Borough of Poole and Ofsted, during our last inspection, on how effective our processes and procedures are.  We review attendance on a half-termly basis and regularly reward children for good attendance.  For further information about our school's attendance procedure please see the Letters, Policies & Documents section.

Leave of Absence
We would like to draw your attention to regulations by the Department of Education in relation to school attendance. In summary, Headteachers cannot grant any leave of absence during term time unless there are exceptional circumstances.

Any request for absence should be made via the Abence in Term Time Form, which can be collected from the school office. In the form you should detail the reason for the absence during term time and the form should be returned to the school office as soon as possible. You will be notified in writing of any decision made.

Please note that if any child is taken out of school during term time, and the leave of absence is not granted, their absence will be deemed as unauthorised and it may result in a fine being issued.

If at any time you are concerned about your child's attendance, please contact Mrs Lundon, our Attendance Officer, who is always on hand to provide guidance and advice.
