PE and Sport News – Sept 2020

A huge welcome back everyone! The PE Team really hope that you’ve had a great break during what has been an unprecedented Summer. We’re really pleased to be back and getting stuck into our year with loads of great physical education, physical activity and sports opportunities.

Here’s everything that happened during September!

PE Lessons

Years 3 and 4 have made a terrific start to their PE lessons this Autumn term showing incredible effort and enthusiasm. Their two hours of PE each week has involved one lesson of sending and receiving and one lesson of gymnastics or tag-rugby (tag-rugby has been in place of swimming whilst maintenance work is being carried out on the pool. After one month into the new school year, it is also clear to see the effort levels and love for all things active have remained incredibly high as you move up the school in Years 5 and 6. For the first time ever, they’ve been trying their hands at Outdoor Adventure Activities (OAA) and sending and receiving. Just like years 3 and 4, they’ve also be enjoying gymnastics and tag-rugby lessons whilst the pool is out of action.

28/09/20 – 02/10/20 – Bike to School Week

Well done everyone who manage to bike, scoot or walk to school during Bike to School Week. Sustrans, a charity making it easier for people to walk and cycle, have created a free family guide which includes excellent advice on what safety checks to carry out on your child’s bike and how to stay safe when on the road.
