PE and sport news – November 2019

It’s been another great month for PE and Sport at HPJS. Here’s everything that happened during November.

06/11/19 – Year 6 Boys Football Tournament

Two HPJS teams represented the school in a football tournament. Both teams had fantastic attitudes and kept on playing good football until the final whistle. Well done HPJS

13/11/19 – Y5/6 Boys Football v Lytchett Primary

The Y5/6 boy's football team recorded a win in their second league match of the season. The team showed a brilliant, positive attitude throughout whilst also playing some really confident football. The team has now qualified for the second group stage of the main draw. Well done HPJS

18/11/19 – Y5/6 Girls Football Poole Finals

After winning their qualifying tournament, our Y5/6 girl's football team took part in the Poole finals at Carter. During this tournament, the girls showed fantastic skills, decision making, teamwork, and effort. They won all three of their matches, recording 18 goals and conceding 0. Amazing effort girls! They have now qualified to represent all Poole schools at the County finals at Littledown on 28th November. Thank you to Carter for hosting and BU Relays for refereeing

20/11/19 – Y3/4 Netball v Longfleet Primary

On Wednesday 20th November, we hosted Longfleet Primary for our first Y3/4 netball matches of the season. HPJS staff were really pleased with the girls’ and boys’ effort and sportsmanship throughout. Both teams really tried their bests and enjoyed every moment. There was some very impressive netball play on display from all teams involved. Thank you to Longfleet Primary for coming and to all the parents for their support. We’re excited for our next matches coming up in the near future!!

28/11/19 – Y5/6 Girls Football County Finals

After winning the Poole tournament, the girls travelled to Littledown for the County finals. The girls carried on the brilliant performances from earlier this month and progressed into the final. Despite trailing at half-time, yet again the girls showed amazing effort, determination and attitude to get back into the game and eventually win on penalties! DORSET CHAMPIONS 2019/20! What an incredible achievement! All the staff and children at HPJS are so proud of their efforts! This victory means the team now qualifies for the West Regional Finals where they will compete against other county winning teams. This takes place in Bristol towards the end of March. Well done girls! #upthehamworthy
