PE and sport news – April 2019

Here’s our monthly round-up of all the exciting PE and Sport things that happened during April.

02.04.19 – Y3/4 Netball Festival

On Tuesday 2nd April, two HPJS teams from Y3/4 took part in a netball festival against lots of other local Poole schools. This festival was organised by Ann Welch and staff at Oakdale Junior School – thank you to them all. Even though the weather conditions were far from ideal, this did not put HPJS off. For both teams this was their first ever experience of representing HPJS at a netball festival. All children followed the High 5 netball rules brilliantly and played some incredible netball. Mr Barton, Miss Fripp and Mr Paterson were really pleased with everyone’s resilience and smiles on faces :)

23.04.19 – Y5/6 Multiskills Festival

On Tuesday 23rd April, a group of year 5&6 boys and girls travelled to Carter for a Multiskills festival, where they took part in different sports and activities that they may not have done at school or at clubs. All of the children put their all in and wanted to do every activity, which they really enjoyed. All of the children listened really well when someone else was talking and proudly represented Hamworthy.

"This year we have introduced some new workshops to explore what 'Anti Bullying Week' means to us as a school. We looked at how random acts of kindness can bring a smile to peoples faces and how important it is to recognise our strengths and all the things that make us unique and awesome!
