25/01/2019 Blog Girls football tournament

On Friday 25th January, we represented Hamworthy Park in a tournament against other schools in our county. The girls were excited because AFC Bournemouth was running the tournament and if we came 1st or 2nd we went through to the play offs to have the chance of playing in a premiership stadium. We didn’t have our eyes on the prize, we just wanted to go play our football. The first game we won 4-0, with Aimee scoring a well-deserved hat trick! Second game was our toughest opponent in our league. Which we won 2-1 with Holly scoring an absolute screamer from the half way line. Then our last game we knew we had to either win or draw. We drew 1-1 which meant we were through to the semi-finals. At this point the girls were keen to get to play offs so we all agreed to put all our effort into this game. The girls showed great determination and played some great football to take us through to the finals on the 8th of February.

"This year we have introduced some new workshops to explore what 'Anti Bullying Week' means to us as a school. We looked at how random acts of kindness can bring a smile to peoples faces and how important it is to recognise our strengths and all the things that make us unique and awesome!
